Hello and Welcome to Our Towne Saratoga!
It is my pleasure to introduce you to Our Towne Saratoga, Your Hometown Community Resource. We are a monthly publication intended to serve the neighborhood in a light, fun and friendly way, uniting the businesses who work and shop here year round, with the business owners who also operate to serve their community year round.
Each edition features one or two locally owned businesses, free community events, fun and games for adults and children and of course, great specials from your neighborhood merchants.
We are different from other type of print media because we provide the “un-news” of the community by focusing on only the great things the neighborhood has to share year round. A reader’s survey completed by the readers of Our Towne Guilderland (we are one of a GROWING family!) indicated that Our Towne stays in the home an average of 20 days per month and is referred back to an average of 7 – 10 times during that time frame. Similiar to our Featured Businesses, Our Towne is locally owned and operated. I have lived in Ballston Spa/Milton for almost 10 years and am an active mom to a busy Asberger’s-almost 8-year old, proud step mom to 4 boys ages 9, 13, 16 and 19, wife and business partner of a contractor, publisher extrodinaire of Our Towne Ballston Spa and Our Towne Colonie.
I am a proud member of the Saratoga Chamber, Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association, Malta Business and Professional Association, Ballston Spa Rotary Club, Tech Valley Networking Group, Colonie Chamber and the Ballston Spa Presbyterian Church. My volunteer work is important to me and I continue to be involved with the recently completed FANs Kelley Park Playground project and interest in our high school Interact club.

Global Fitness
Global Fitness (formerly World Gym) is a PREMIER fitness center. We offer a complete range of amenities that cater to each member or guest’s individual needs such as a state of the art cardio deck, circuit training, free weights, specialized cardio classes, Reebok cycling or Star Trek Pro Cycles*, Boxing, Brazilian Ju-jitsu and Physical Therapy. Our wide variety of Group Fitness Classes include Les Mills Group Fitness Studio, Body Pump, Body Jam, RPM cycling and more!
This center is over 17,000 square feet with plenty of parking and amenities such as LCD TV’s, magazines, towel service, locker rooms with showers, personal trainers, pro-shop, baby-sitting services and Tanning and an Extreme Blendz highly nutritious shake bar.
We bought the place about 3 and 1/2 years ago, when I was a member, and heard the business was up for sale. We finally changed the name about a year and a half ago to reflect the multitude of offerings we have for any age, any shape, any fitness level.
Q. Are you known for anything special?
We work hard to maintain exciting and fresh fitness options for all our members. We even offer specialized group training for sporting groups that require indoor winter training, on or off season.
Q. What do you like most about your business?
I’ve worked out since my teens and really enjoy helping members establish routines or mix-up their existing workouts a little. Its satisfying to help people achieve their personal goals.
Q. What do you feel is your biggest challenge with your business?
Our business has grown and we are always busy keeping our machines in tip-top shape and excellent condition. It sure keeps us busy!
Q. What do you want the community to know about you?
While others are raising rates, we are LOWERING ours to make fitness an easy budget-friendly choice. We also accept Fit Blue, Healthways, Prime Insurance and offer discounted memberships for corporations, seniors and military personnel.

Yes. We recommend cleaning your enclosure with CRL Bio-Clean water stain remover, a professional strength cleaner. After the surface is cleaned apply a transparent polymer coating, such as CRL TPC Surface Protector to seal the pores of the glass to make it water, soil, and stain resistant.
