About the Publisher

Our Towne Saratoga

Thank you for your interest in Our Towne Saratoga, Your Hometown Community Resource. Our Towne is mailed and distributed monthly to 10,000 households and businesses covering a variety of neighborhoods on the West side of Saratoga.

Each edition features one or two locally owned businesses, messages from local organizations, community calendar and events. Look for our fun special extras like Brain Busters, a Kids Page, Recipes and of course, great specials from your area businesses and happenings from our area community service groups.

We are different from other types of print media because we are the “un-news”. Our publication is a fun, friendly way to keep the year round residents connected to the year round business owners. A reader’s survey, completed by the readers of Our Towne, indicated that Our Towne stays in their home an average of 20 days per month AND they have referred back to Our Towne 7 – 10 times during that time frame.

Similar to our featured local businesses, Our Towne is locally owned. I was born and raised in the Capital District, a graduate of Averill Park and HVCC and have worked professionally in the region since I was 16 (I’m not telling my age….lets just say its been a long time!). I have lived in Ballston Spa for 10 years with my husband Mark, a self-employed contractor, and our son Eric, a charming 8 year old Asbergers charmer! Further, I am an active, proud step-mom to Mark Jr., Tanner, Ian and Hunter McFarland ages 20, 16, 14 and 9 years old respectively. We are a busy family with extended family in the area and are members of the Ballston Spa Presbyterian Church.

Professionally, I bring to Our Towne extensive small business print media sales experience, small business development expertise emphasizing sales leadership, human resource management and accounting practices, am a member of the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, Ballston Spa Business & Professional Association, Malta Business & Professional Association  and Ballston Spa Rotary.  I continue to serve as a committee member for the recently completed F.A.N.S. Kelley Park Playground Project and maintain special interest in children’s issues involving Asberger’s Syndrome, Pediatric Developmental Disorder, literacy improvement within lower income families and volunteer-ism amongst high school aged kids.

I hope you enjoy Our Towne Saratoga as much as I am enjoying putting a new look together for it! For additional information, please call or e-mail me. I’m happy to be of service!
